Many congratulations to Kilbeggan's Eleanor Gillic who on Saturday last at Tullamore won the National  Seniors Strokeplay Intermediate Championship. Playing at the venue of her Leinster Mixed Foursomes win of a few years ago when partnered by Alan McCormack, it is no surprise that Eleanor has a particular fondness for the Tullamore course. On the day she returned a 36 hole score of plus seven to win by a single stroke from St. Bridgets Bernie Dunne. A great achievement by a player with long and dedicated service to the game and rounds off a very successful year for the Kilbeggan club who can now boast two national champions in the same year. Aoife Carton won this years National Junior Strokeplay Championship.
